In case you haven't been able to tell, I've recently become a huge fan of that new tv show Caprica, and am currently in the middle of a terribly divided and chaotic personal marathon of the recordings of all the episodes I've gathered on my DVR. The season finale has already aired...and I've yet to see it...although I have seen the commercials for it and would like to share my happiness at the fact that Richard Harmon manages to be in it for a few seconds! It's footage from a past episode, but still. :-)
But not only do I love the tv show itself, I love alot of things about it...such as the wardrobe...everything is so futuristic, yet they dress kind of old fashioned and their cars are...and it's just pretty much awesome. I might be missing something here, actually, I probably am, but that's beside the point. I enjoy it. :-)
Now...on a note that would only seem related in my mind, and therefore completely unrelated to anyone reading this, it has recently come to my attention that apparently not everyone's mind works the same way mine does. Well, I actually already knew that...but there were aspects that I thought were common throughout the human race...and I was wrong.
When I listen to songs, not all songs, but generally ones I like, I can sometimes picture a perfect montage of scenes from a movie that doesn't actually exist, like a movie I made up in my head. Occasionally I'll actually turn it into a screenplay or story of some kind, but sometimes I'll just let it sit in my mind until it becomes a more complete idea. But sometimes I'll just picture choreography or something of the sort...generally just some sort of scene, whether that be one in a movie or on stage, that goes along with the song. I was under the impression everyone did this...but I guess not, because after mentioning one of these moments of inspiration to a friend, she seemed completely confused...I guess I'm slowly learning new things about myself...I suppose it is a sign of creativity though, right?
On a lighter note, another self-discovery! Well, I don't know if it's really a "discovery," considering I've actually known this for quite a while, it's just becoming more and more apparent.
Whenever I'm in a show (musical, play, etc.) I tend to act a bit like my character...not like I "become" my character all the time, just aspects of me that I play on when acting in my role become more apparent, and I might just dress a bit like the time period...
For example, recently I've been rather obsessed with the 1940s and I believe it's beginning to show. Not like that's a bad thing, considering the 1940s were pretty much awesome. :-)
