The Busiest Week(s)

So sorry I haven't updated in such a long time! It has been a busy time! I'll just play some catch up...

The monday following my last update, I had my Pure Fashion fitting at a mall pretty far away from where I live and where I go to school. Normally, I simply would have stayed afterschool for a few hours and waited for my mom to come a get me, but, naturally, that was scheduled to be an early release day for my school, meaning school got out before lunch. So I had about five or six hours with nothing to do...

I took the bus to my mom's work and used the extra computer in her office to just kind of mess around...studying the differences between Quebec french and regular french and the vowel shift in valspeak.

Then I had my fitting. I was in the shortest group, as in the group with the shortest Pure Fashion models, and we were getting our clothes at JCPenny's. Our theme was "play time" or just general "hanging out with friends" style clothes.

It took a while to find something I liked, but I ended up picking a cute high waisted dress with a black and white striped top and a black bottom. My accessories consited of a black purse with flowers on it and a red beaded necklace with matching bracelets and earings.

I was supposed to have my prom dress fitting on Tuesday, but since it was at the same mall, they went ahead and let me get mine that night.

It was hard. I kept finding all these adorable dresses (floor length, considering I believe short dresses are for homecoming, while prom dresses should be long), but they were all size 3. Which was starting to really piss me off.

I usually wear a 5/6 or 7/8 in dresses, so those were the sizes I tried on, but then I realised that apparently none of those dresses were fitting me, and ended up resorting to a short dress.

I found a really cute one, it was "Slytherin green" as I'd call it, and strapless. Strapless is against the Pure Fashion guidlines, but otherwise it was fine, long enough and everything! I'm not even going to mention the size as it simply deppressed me. But the dress did look adorable.

The rest of the week I was swamped with homework beyond belief. My Creative Writing contract for 30 pages of memoir (all of which are less than five pages, with only one at least five pages) and ended up writing them all Tuesday night, which was the day before they were due. They were pretty terrible, and most of them took place in California (which I still consider my home state, even if I live in Washington and Virginia for just as long...).

On Thursday I finally asked for the script for Twelve Angry Women to read before my audition for that next week. I had been planning on attending yoga that afternoon, but then the weather got really terrible and there was a tornado warning and everything, so it got canceled.

Then, Friday was my sister's confirmation! Which was really cool. I sang in the choir and even wore my confirmation dress from when I was confirmed (Catholic) last year. My sister's confirmation saint is Saint Francis of Assissi, which is cool.

Afterwords we had the family over for a little party with pie and ice cream. Then we played the Wii, which has become a bit of a fun family event at get together at my house now. It's really funny...and fun.

I sang at First Holy Communion mass that Sunday, which was cool because my choir director's daughter was having her first communion.

However, the majority of my weekend was spent doing this huge Science thing that made everyone want to kill themselves (practically). It was terrible. I had no free time ALL WEEKEND. The only other thing I did (except maybe watch a movie. Surrogates. Actually really good!) was practice for my two huge auditions coming up that week: Thoroughly Modern Millie and Twelve Angry Jurors.

Monday of the next week (this past week) began the audition week from hell. It was also spirit week, leading up to Prom on Friday. I'm only a freshman, and I wasn't asked, so I didn't get to go, but I am in student council, so I was obliged to dress up for every day anyway, not that I wouldn't have anyway. It was throwback day where everyone was supposed to dress for their favourite decade. I dresed for the 80s with the same outift I wore at my 80s themed birthday party I just had a few months ago. After school: Dance call for Millie. Now, I knew this dance call was going to kick my ass, but I didn't realise it would be that bad. It went terrible. I was fairly disappointed in myself. But then again, I don't come from a very extensive background in dance.

Tuesday was the busiest day of them all. It was Go Gaga Day, and I dressed up as Lady Gaga to the best of my extent. It was pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. Afterschool I changed for my auditions. First up: Millie vocal audition. I wouldn't say it was anywhere near one of my best auditions, considering it went quite terrible. However, I suppose it went pretty well...it could've been worse. I sang Roxie, as planned, then they tested my range, which apparently went from and A flat-F. Then I had my Twelve Angry Jurors Audition. I auditioned for Juror #4 and Juror #12. I thought the audition went really well and I was really happy about it.

Then came Wednesday. I didn't have an audition that day, but it was DSA Sports Day! DSA doesn't have any sports, except maybe dance, and so we were making fun of it with a sports day! All the student council members wore matching "jerseys" for student council. I was #9, for some reason. Then, at lunch, there was the epic students vs. teachers capture the flag game. We ended up playing two games, and the teachers won the first (even though they were TOTALLY cheating) and student won the second. The callbacks for Twelve Angry Jurors were posted, and unfortunatly I wasn't called back at all. My sister had her Millie vocal audition afterschool, so I had to stay fairly late to wait for it to be done. When I got home, the callbacks for Thoroughly Modern Millie were posted, and I was overjoyed to find out I got called back for Muzzy and Mrs. Meers. Muzzy was the part I really wanted, and I could work the callback song for her (Only in New York) no problem. Mrs. Meers, however, I didn't know the callback song (They Don't Know) at all. So I learned it. In one night.

Thursday was Superhero day, so I wore my mom's Wonder Woman shirt. Then, I had my Millie callbacks after school. Muzzy went first, and I butchered it. Well, maybe not butchered it, but it didn't go very well. I was sad. I was so terribly nervous while I was singing I was literally shaking from head to toe and was focusing so much on staying standing in my character shoes. Then came Mrs. Meers. That actually went REALLY well. I was pleased with that one.

Then came Friday...the fateful day when they would post the cast list for Millie. Then...they decided that they wouldn't post it until AFTER school. Jake and I, both of who were called back, were going insane. You don't even know.

Then...it was finally posted. I was a chorus member, but I was still in the show! Unfortunatly, right after that, my boyfriend decided it was a good idea to break up with me.

Saturday, I spent the whole day reading The Devil in the White City for Lit class, since I was required to do a presentation on Monday. That's when I found out my dad was going to Lousiana to help with the oil spill. And missing my fashion show the next day. Which was sad, but more so since he was supposed to walk me down the runway for the Prom dress part.

Then, Sunday, was the day of the fashion show. That morning my dad was moved to Alabama, so that was were he was going to fly that day. The Pure Fashion show went great. I had alot of fun.

Then came Monday, my first Millie rehearsal, except that it was moved to Tuesday...so I didn't have anything to do...but I did get into 4Squared, which was epically awesome!

Today = Tuesday. My first Millie rehearsal. I'm really looking forward to this show. :-)
