I believe my fondness for Canada just might be beginning to annoy some of my friends...this assumption, of course, is grounded in some fact. I mostly began to consider this thought after my friend Sam told me "Why don't you just move there already?" to which I believe I responded "I should..."
I realised today that that might not be all to rediculous a comment considering that during my Geography test today I definently managed to comment on how awesome Canada is. One of our words was "push factor" and another was "pull factor." A push factor is something that makes someone want to leave a country, while a pull factor is something that makes someone want to move to a country. After we defined the words, we were also supposed to use them in a sentence, and mine went as follows:
push factor - The fact that the U.S.'s government isn't very good at getting anything done is a push factor.
pull factor - Canada's awesome health care system was a pull factor.
We also had the words "emmigrate" and "immigrate" and my reffered to a "she" that emmigrated from the U.S. to immigrate to Canada.
Now, my liking of Canada is not completely random. a) it's the only country other than the U.S. that I've ever been to, b) they have a great health care system, c) their film and television industry is doing pretty well, and d) they speak french (the language I'm currently learning) there.
I'd really like to visit Canada again, and possibly move there, but regardless, there will always be a place for Canada in my heart. :-)
